The dried form of coconut meat is known as Copra. To remove the moisture content from the coconut on a commercial scale, initially the firm white coconut meat of a matured coconut is processed in a hot kiln at a certain temperature. Copra is partially processed, dried over the course of a few days by coconut farmers. Once the coconut becomes lightly browned and dry at this stage. This product is called copra.

🌴 The dried copra is transported by any means possible to large industrial oil mills to process CNO (Coconut Oil) for commodity markets. If drying or transportation takes too long, mould or bacterial growth occurs, which leads to rancidity. Commercial refinement using noxious chemicals is used to sterilize, and high pressures remove nutritive antioxidants and other beneficial components of the coconut, changing a highly nutritious and natural product into something toxic. 🌴 CNO can be found in many things listed as Coconut Oil: skin lotions, shampoo & conditioner, soaps and detergents, cooking oil, and medications for abrasions, skin rashes, and burns. 🌴 To shred the copra pieces the copra is cut into chunks and run through the press. To make the shredded coconut into a buttery consistency this process is repeated. This is called coconut butter and instead of the regular dairy butter this butter is used by vegans. It is used in the preparation of sorbets and desserts and also used in baking. It has excellent moisturizing properties and is used in the manufacture of shampoos, soaps, body scrubs, and hair masks. The benefit of using copra meal as animal feed is that it is cheap and easily available. Copra is used as a primary product in horse feed as it has high protein content. It conditions the body, improves the skin texture in horses.
